Cadão is a Portuguese wine brand produced by Mateus & Sequeira Vinhos S.A., a young and entrepreneurial company based in the Douro Valley, specifically in São João da Pesqueira, at the heart of Portugal’s first demarcated wine region and UNESCO World Heritage site. Drawing from a long tradition of viticulture and research in the Douro, the winery sources grapes from strategically located vineyards across various sub-regions to ensure consistent quality and terroir expression.
Cadão wines include reds, whites, rosés, and Ports (such as Tawny and White Port), crafted primarily from native Douro varieties like Touriga Nacional, Touriga Franca, Tinta Roriz, Viosinho, Gouveio, and Rabigato. The flagship red offers vibrant fruit aromas (ripe red and black fruits), elegant structure, and notes of vanilla and toast, while the Tawny Port features dried fruits, nuts, honey, and spices.
