Juromenha Selected Harvest Red 2018

The Herdade das Aldeias de Juromenha Winery is a company located 15 km from the city of Elvas, right in the heart of the Alentejo region. Founded in 1998 in an area with a strong tradition in winemaking, the first vines were planted on Monte dos Outeiros, next to Herdade das Aldeias, thus beginning the first phase of the project. Only traditional Portuguese grape varieties were planted there: Trincadeira, Aragonês, Antão Vaz, Alicante, and Verdelho. This resulted in a building with clean lines, complemented by the torrid tones of the warm Alentejo landscape, overlooking the vineyards, the Guadiana River, and Juromenha. Currently, the vineyards are in their seventh phase of expansion, reaching 70 hectares, and are predominantly planted with native Portuguese grape varieties, also including some international varieties, namely Syrah and Cabernet Sauvignon, among others. Our flagship wine is named Aldeias de Juromenha, and we now have five brands associated with our wine: D.Januário, Aldeias de Juromenha, Forte da Graça, Herdade das Aldeias, and SAMO. Our range includes Aldeias de Juromenha red, white, and rosé wines from a selected harvest; among the young wines, Syrah, Touriga Nacional, Verdelho, and Viognier; and the top-of-the-range Reserva and Garrafeira wines. All our wines have won awards, totaling 34 medals awarded in national and international competitions [7 gold, 14 silver, and 13 bronze].
